It's pretty easy one: you need to upload your .swf file to your server or somwhere else, but you need to know the link to it! Open the text widget in your WordPress and put this code into it:

<div align="center"><embed wmode="transparent"
src="http://www.your-web-site/../your-file.swf"
quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
width="size in pix" height="size in pix"></embed></div>

Of course, insert the correct path to the file and desired dimensions (red part of code)

    That's great! but I'm having problems trying to include a link when the image is clicked. how can this be done?

  12. Anonymous // 22 July 2010 at 20:39

    Link is created when making a SWF file. When the SWF is done you can not insert or cgange hyperlink (like you do with the normal picture).

    Hello, I tried to use your code in a text-html widget, but when I clicked save, it automatically transformed to a hyperlink pointing to my .swf file. The same thing happened whith all the variations of the code I found on the Internet. Do you have any idea what is going wrong?

    This works great in displaying the swf in the sidebar. However, when clicking the swf, the embedded link doesn't work-instead, it gose to an error page. I have 2 files with different embedded links and this happens to both. Any advice?

    Wow, thanks so much. I tried a few different plugins which didn't work. I tried copying my swf to the root directory as others suggested - that didn't work. This was so simple Thanks!!!
